One of the most rewarding moments at ER&L 2025 came not from a session we hosted — but from one we didn’t even know was happening.

In her presentation, “I'm Silently Creating a Spreadsheet for That: COUNTER, Non-COUNTER, ILL Stats, No-Stats... Oh My!”, Elizabeth Berney, Collection Development Librarian for STEM at Kansas State University, walked attendees through how her team tackles the complex task of cost-per-use analysis using multiple types of data — even when usage stats are missing or incomplete.

To our surprise and delight, Elizabeth spoke very positively about her experience using CELUS, highlighting how it’s helped reduce time spent wrangling COUNTER reports and made her evaluation workflows more manageable.
